ALL 674 MEALS DELIVERED DESPITE HISTORIC LOW TEMPS

All 674 meals were delivered on time Monday after historic record low temperatures prompted some volunteers to cancel.  The Post-Standard reporter Marnie Eisenstadt posted the story on Syracuse.com around 9AM and by 11AM, at least four new volunteers were helping Meals on Wheels of Syracuse deliver meals to 337 homebound seniors in the city.  Meals on Wheels of Syracuse refers to Ms. Eisenstadt as a Community Champion and hopes to recruit additional new volunteers from the residual effects of the article.  The program relies on 30 volunteers to deliver an average of 700 meals each weekday. Additional volunteers help staff the kitchen.  Meals on Wheels of Syracuse appreciates the community's ongoing support of its mission and thanks their Community Champions during March for Meals.  #MarchforMeals
