Meals on Wheels of Syracuse Needs Winter Volunteers, Especially on President’s Day!
Meals on Wheels of Syracuse, NY Inc. (MOWS) needs volunteers to deliver meals to homebound meal recipients and, or help package meals in its kitchen during the winter months as many of their regular volunteers travel south for the winter. If you have a day that you are available during Monday-Friday, Meals on Wheels is asking for volunteer help from 8am – 11am in its kitchen or 11am-1pm driving a route or serving meals to the homes of meal recipients along with a driver.
Meals on Wheels is often preparing and delivering meals on holidays where individuals may have time off from work or school. “If you are someone who would like to help Meals on Wheels but, your work schedule does not allow, consider President’s Day on Monday, February 18th. It’s a great time for you and your family to help a good cause” said Sarah Parton, Volunteer Coordinator.
Meals on Wheels of Syracuse was established as the fourth chapter of Meals on Wheels in the United States in 1959. The program is committed to administering nourishing meals to the homebound: seniors; people with disabilities; nutritionally at-risk individuals and people recovering from accident and illness.
